Athlete of the Month Michelle!

Let's hear it for our January 2024 Athlete of the Month....Michelle!

We are excited to announce that Michelle is our first athlete of the month for 2024! Michelle started with us not too long ago with her husband Wilbur and has been super fun to have in classes. She is always so positive and open to feedback and the improvements she has made in the last few months has been amazing. Keep up the good work Michelle! Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A: 4 months

Q: What do you like most about CrossFit 2024?
A: The community is amazing! Everybody is so encouraging and it’s great to workout with people who are kind and also motivate you!

Q: Why did you originally hop on the CrossFit Express?
A: My partner had been asking me to join him for a class for 5 years…. I finally agreed and I’m so happy I did. 

Q: What motivates you to keep going and working hard?
A: I’m working hard for my future self. I know I won’t regret putting time into prioritizing my health. 

Q: What’s your favorite movement in CrossFit?
A: Deadlifts! I just PRed a weight I didn’t think I’d reach.  

Q: What are your long term goals (in fitness or life)?
A: Stretching everyday

Q: What’s your biggest accomplishment since joining 2024?
A: Becoming a morning person :). I’m so much more productive now. 

Q: Who is someone that inspires you at the box and why?
A: My partner! It’s fun to workout together and he is always smiling, no matter how hard a workout is. 

Q: What’s one hidden talent you have or interesting fact about you?
A:  I love cooking! Some of my favorite dishes to cook include: sourdough bread, coconut curry, slow cooked pho, japchae, bourguignon, & carbonara. 

Q: Favorite song?
A: It changes weekly, haha

Q: Favorite movie?
A: Elf

Q: Favorite coffee/lunch/dinner spot in ATX?
A: Chuys, always

Q: What’s one item on your bucket list?
A: Do a muscle up

Q: Favorite Cheat Meal?
A: Mac & cheese made with a freshly grated block of cheese

Q: What are you looking forward to the most in 2024 (next year)?
A: Traveling the world with my partner

Q: What’s something you’d say to someone considering joining CrossFit for the first time?
A: Just try it, there’s nothing to be afraid of! Every movement is scalable to your fitness level :)
