We are proud to announce that Yoli is our September athlete of the month! Yoli is a hard worker both inside and outside of the gym and deserves every bit of recognition. Being a single mom of 4 girls, working hard to provide for her family, Yoli still makes her fitness a priority and shows up consistently and always with a positive attitude. We are super proud of you Yoli and look forward to continuing this journey with you!

Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A: Off and on since 2015

Q: Why did you originally hop on the CrossFit Express?
A:  I wanted to join a gym where I could workout with other people to motivate me. Normal gyms were boring and I would feel like I wasn’t doing movements correctly.

Q: What motivates you to keep going and working hard?
A:  I want to be strong and healthy for my kids, so I can have energy to keep up with them as I age.

Q: What’s your favorite movement in CrossFit?
A:  Wallballs 

Q: What are your long term goals (in fitness and life)?
A: To still CrossFit as I get older, to know how to do all movements.

Q: What’s your biggest accomplishment since joining 2024?
A:  Finally getting comfortable and trying movements I thought I could never do. I tend to be scared and doubt myself a lot. 

Q: Who is someone that inspires you at the box and why?
A:  Everyone! Every class I attend there is always someone cheering you on or clapping for you or just happy to see you.

Q: What’s one hidden talent you have or interesting fact about you?
A:  Interesting fact is my favorite color is purple lol

Q: Favorite movie?
A:  Clueless 

Q: Favorite coffee/lunch/dinner spot in ATX?
A:  Trudy’s   (Best Mexican martinis)

Q: What’s one item on your bucket list?
A: Go horseback riding 

Q: Favorite Cheat Meal?
A: Whataburger 

Q: What are you looking forward to the most in the remainder of 2023?
A: I’m looking forward to the holidays with my family 

Q: What’s something you’d say to someone considering joining CrossFit for the first time?
A: That no matter the movements, you can always scale so don’t be intimidated.
